Match Report: Saturday 10 October 2015
For the first time in the history of Liverpool Lacrosse, we have been able to enter our boys into an U12 league.
Whilst Liverpool is a newly formed team, the boys have made great progress training hard over the summer. Saturday’s home game was always going to be a tough one particularly as the experienced opposition, Timperley, kindly loaned us one of their players to ensure the game started on an even footing.
Although the boys did not win, they did not let their heads drop and there were many positives – our two new starters, Chris and Matthew Meadows, gave a sterling performance whilst Gabriel Taylor, Kai Hollingsworth, Christian Maden and Chris Wood had good positional play resulting in some cracking goals! By the second half, Liverpool were a robust unit and despite countless shoves and falls, the boys fought right to the end with Daniel Brune working hard for every ground ball whilst Jude Taylor made life difficult for his opposition with some excellent defensive body work.
One player that stood out from beginning to end was Patrick Hill who made some outstanding saves in goal along with a number of good and tactical clearances. For that reason, the ‘Most Valuable Player’ goes to Patrick!
As ever, thank you to the boys’ coach, Oli Jones and the parents for your support on and off the pitch.
I would also like to thank Elena and Mark for taking some great photos.
