Liverpool v Leeds

Match Report: Saturday 10 October

After a long journey and a week off, Liverpool had what would be a tough match! Leeds are always one of our favourite teams to play and Saturday’s game was going to be no different. With new and returning players, the team was a mixture of experience and calm.

I selected 18 players from a possible 22 which is a difficult decision, as our squad is so strong, but one I have to and did make.

The match started well with Lyndsey Sung opening the scoring setting us on the right path. We stayed strong whilst always getting back into defence quickly. O

ur defence played well as a team – communication was the key which helped reduce the amount of opportunities for Leeds. The transition in midfield was much improved from our last game.

We had 9 different goal scorers in the game which highlights the strength within Liverpool Lacrosse.

This week’s Captain’s special mention goes to Jenna Boon for her draw control, determination, solid performance and endurance – thank you.

MVP went to Coral Evans, a new starter to the team which is a great and well deserved accolade.

Top goal-scorers were Tamsin Stephenson and Gaby Sims whilst a special mention and thank you goes to Linda Musker who refereed the game and Katie Bishop for the top quality photos.

Thank you Liverpool Ladies – you did yourselves proud.
