Liverpool v Stoke

Match Report: Saturday 17 October

Unfortunately Stoke were unable to field a full team however they still travelled to Liverpool with 8 players. Having agreed to provide them with two of our Liverpool players and another referee, we played 10 a side in quarters.

Stoke started the game strong by maintaining possession on attack, passing it around and scoring. However, the defence unit led by Ally Stutley and Katharine Hughes kept us focused.

Liverpool were able to dominate the draw thanks to Jenna Boon and Charlotte Clulow who fought hard throughout the game in the centre. Our attackers worked well with many goals although some shots, mainly from me, left much to be desired. Coral Evans was the top goal scorer whilst there were goals from seven different people including defender Kate Sweeney getting on the score card.

We had some of our players successfully try new positions. Sarah Mir showed a great passion in defence whilst Ashley Bruen took ‘defending back’ to a new level with midfield being dominated by Hannah Forshaw and Kate Sharkey.

I would also like to welcome Laura Bibby to the squad.

MVP deservedly went to Charlotte Clulow with Captain’s special mention going to our referees, Paul Bibby and of course the birthday girl, Linda Musker.

All in all an excellent game.

Fleur x
