Men’s 3s Win 7-2!

Short and sweet, we have lifted the Winnington Park curse – and in emphatic fashion. Seven very well – ie simply – worked goals by passing the ball around the D saw us well rewarded against a usually tougher opponent.

Credit must go to the team for starting the match and the second half excellently, scoring 6 of their goals in the first 15 mins of each half. Some beautiful miscues from the captain when shooting saw him have a few assists, but Jorge was the star of the show today, netting 4 goals to add to the 2 goals for the captain and one for Alex Gaul.

Daniel Price will look on the game with mixed feelings – a rest on the sidelines, along with the captain according to the umpires little black book of yellow cards, but also some truly excellent saves which came straight out of a much higher league. An excellent keeper, not quite so gifted in the speech department Dan – we still love you!!!

For the first time this season, we had all squad members available and it was a pleasure to have to make tough calls on personnel. Guess that’s the job of the captain, you may never be the best mate of every player, but today was about getting the win over Winnington.

Todays results have cast an uncertain time over the initial optimism for next week in Llandudno but we won’t be coming back with anything other than 3 points!
