Tennis Twitter – Week 6

Captains Reports;

Ladies A Team; This week we played Eccleston Park. Although the opposition didn’t want to start in the rainy conditions. They eventually got on to the courts to play. The 3rd couple had to default in the 2nd set, so we were 2 matches ahead straight away. The other matches were won easily giving us a 6-0 victory.

Ladies B Team; The ladies continue to ‘enjoy’ an away match, this week on the dusky and challenging shale courts at Ruskin Park. We look forward to the return match; on grass!

Men’s A Team; A stronger than usual Palmerston snatched victory from our grasp by battling through a couple of frustrating super-tie breaks. However; it has to be conceded that they were the better team and deserved the victory. But next time……….

Men’s B Team; Despite a thrilling start and a well-deserved 2-1 lead the night came tumbling down around our ears when the unpredicted precipitation descended upon us. Is this summer?

Men’s C Team; Playing on Friday this week, catch up report soon.

Section Fundraising.

Like all sections at LCC we need a significant amount of income each year to pay our way and it is not always possible for us to secure this from the Club. One way to raise income is through ‘Easyfundraising’ an on-line discount service that can compare insurance, mobile, energy and digital deals. The section receives between £25 -£45 for everyone who uses their services.
