Tennis Twittering – Week 14
Ladies A team: Our efforts to finish the league at the top were boosted when, due to tragic circumstances, our opponents conceded their game
Ladies B Team: A glorious, balmy evening of tennis, we were tested in the heat by the returning Ruskin Park. We had a strong mixed team on court and just missed out on a win. Hard to believe we have only one match left then the season is over. We will be fitter, stronger and ready for more next year.
Men’s A team: Everyone stepped up their game to earn a much needed and well-earned 4-2 win against Palmerston who had beaten us earlier in the season. We now have an away trip to Campion and a rearranged home fixture against them to hopefully finish on a high.
Men’s C Team; Is it possible to enjoy a close defeat, when the dreaded super tie break denies you a draw against the top of the league? Of course not; but when you team includes two 16 year olds and a returning quality player there is plenty to be happy about. With another 16 year old top quality prospect on holiday and a 14 year old being coached we have plenty to look forward to.

As the season comes to a close we are organising a series of coaching sessions for all ages and abilities in order that we can prepare ourselves for success next season. Coaching will be structured to support Saturday Social tennis sessions (2:30 – 4:30pm) and it is hoped that other games will be arranged amongst our players. Further details will be circulated in due course and it is hoped that we all continue to play and stay in touch during the off-season.
