Wigton’s a long way but Women’s 2s Win again!

After a long foggy drive up to Wigton (made longer because Heather Brook went 20 mph the last hour of the journey) and some crap riddles from Kat, we went out wanting a win as big as last week. Unfortunately the first half didn’t go exactly to plan with some good passing and work from the defence and midfield resulting in opportunities but no goals. Nearing the end of the first half Wigton took advantage of a drop in our play to take the first goal.

In the team talk we all knew we weren’t travelling all this way for a loss and within 5 minutes some wonderful build up play from Jennifer and a great ball in from Danielle led to Jo’s first goal.

Minutes later Jennifer Buchanan smashed one in from a short.

Helen Oakley kept our shape and passing sharp enabling some excellent runs from Heather, Hannah and Olivia Bunni with Nicola Mulvoy doing some superb tackling and skilfully managing to score two. Two more goals came from Jo (yes lad!).  Credit to Jen Mac who definitely deserved a goal today and to everyone for keeping the intensity up.  I think I got mom for putting up with Heather all day, she was a nightmare. Preston next week, Sophie Taylor we’re coming for you!!
