Women’s 2s Back to Winning Ways

Having had a disappointing loss away at Lytham last week, something needed to change for our game against Lancaster. A lot happened differently yesterday:

1. Cath parked her car in a different spot

2. Cath made us go in changing room K instead of J

3. The team talk in the changing room was unusual – when we all left to go and warm up no one new the starting line up, apart from Kat was in goal!

4. Cath took the warm up & we were all knackered before the first whistle. Quote Jo “this warm up is heavy”

5. When the umpires blew for 2 minutes we were told who was starting.

But, something worked. To put it bluntly we played some of the best hockey this season, particularly in the first half. We passed the ball quickly, made runs off the ball, didn’t sell ourselves (Remi!!) and played for each other.

HT 3-0, FT 5-0

Goals – Mel (pc), Rach, Dani, Jo, Jen Mc.

Fantastic match, more of the same next week girlies…even if we have a 2.5 hour road trip before we play our next game away at Wigton (at 11am)!

Thanks to Jenny Rat for umpiring. Class as always.
