On March 7th Liverpool Cricket & Sports Club will be hosting the #LocalSolutionsBigSleepOut which will challenge people to give up their bed and sleep out to raise money for young homeless people.
Local Solutions, a charity that deliver services to support individuals, families and communities across the Liverpool City Region and North Wales, are asking participants to try and raise a minimum of £50 with every penny raised going towards supporting vulnerable young people and putting an end to youth homelessness.
Across the country, 136,000 young people approached their council as homeless or about to become homeless in 2022/2023; that equates to 372 per day. These figures also fail to account for the young people who are living on the streets, couch surfing and not knowing where they will sleep tonight.
“The support from Local Solutions has really left a mark on my life and I can only thank everyone who helped me.” 💬
Participants will arrive at 8pm and will be encouraged to build their own shelter using cardboard on the outfield in front of the pavilion. In case it rains the pavilion seating and 1st floor balcony will be available for shelter.
Soup and a hot roll per person will be served by caterers at the Cricket Club at 10pm followed by a bacon roll and hot drink per person at 8am the next day. All participants will leave site by 9am at the latest on Friday 8th March
