Our Cricket Men’s 1st Team faced their penultimate game of the season on Saturday 13th September, where they were on the edge of promotion up to the premier league after a strong season. All they needed was a win or draw against Spring View on Saturday to guarantee their move up to the top.

Now, if you know cricket you’ll know that when a game gets cancelled, the score goes down as a draw, and due to some bad weather on the day, that exactly what happened! So after waiting over 25 years, the Cricket Men’s 1st Team have been promoted back up to the Premier League!!!

Next season, they’ll face Ormskirk CC where 2025 marks the first time in the club’s history that the 1st XI have won the Premier League three times in succession. Their players who have gone to first class cricket include the likes of Tom Hartley, Simon Kerrigan & John Simpson. They’ll also face Northern CC who’s finished inside the Top 5 of the Premier League every year for the last 10 years.

They’re not the only ones making history though as LCC are back in the premier league for the first time since 1999, so this team has a point to prove next season! Up the cherries! 🍒🍒
